What are friend bets on Citadel?

They are user-created pools with two sides (A/B), a fixed stake per player, and a cap on participants. The creator locks entries and settles the winning side.

What is the platform fee?

A 5% fee is deducted from each winner’s payout when the pool is settled (amount credited to the wallet). It is not an extra fee on crypto withdrawal.

Yes. Joining debits your wallet balance in a supported currency. There is no fictional practice mode for friend bets.

Private vs public pools?

Private pools are joined via an invite code. Public pools can be listed after administrator approval.

Can we play poker on the friend bets page?

Yes. Open the Poker tab to load the Citadel poker lobby in-page while you arrange private stakes with people you trust. Public friend-bet pools still require administrator approval before they appear in Discover.

What are Duels and moderated live replays on friend bets?

Duels use the same two-outcome pool mechanics and appear in the Duels tab when public and approved. Creators may submit an HTTPS playback URL (YouTube Live, Twitch, Vimeo, Loom, or direct HLS .m3u8). The embed is shown only after administrator approval; content must follow platform rules.

What is the “grasshopper bout” tab on friend bets?

It is a playful name for the same two-side (A/B) pool as Duels—metaphor only, not real insect fighting, which we do not allow. Public pools appear after admin approval. Creators can add a moderated live replay (HTTPS URL or phone broadcast where configured). Embeds are shown only after team approval; all content must follow platform rules.

Can I add my own rules to a friend bet?

Yes. Use the optional “Your rules” field when you create a pool. Explain clearly how the winner is decided (evidence, deadlines, ties). Everyone who can view the pool sees this text. You must still settle honestly and follow Citadel’s policies and applicable law.
